Honoring the day of Our Lady of Guadalupe is a very Mexican thing.

I for one am not Catholic anymore, but she will always have a special place in my heart. I grew up hearing the story of Juan Diego and how he heard the music from Heaven one day when he was on his way to town. About how his tio was sick and the beautiful lady that appeared to him told him to pick roses on Tepeyac Hill. When Juan Diegito expressed his anxieties to her, she responded, “Am I not here? Am I not your mother?” To me, counseling can help you get in touch with a similar voice in each of us. We all have our own spiritual path. We all have our own mental health path. We all have a grounding, calming, energy in each of us. I work to stay in touch with this in myself and help my clients find it too. We can’t guarantee what the future will bring, but we can guarantee that we don’t have to do it alone.

My friends call me Luis

And I hope you will too!
